He was predeceased by: his mother Linda Merritt; his grandparents, Jack, Maxine Merritt, Harry and Eva Wood; and his uncle Jimmy Merritt.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Merritt and Brandon Merritt; his sisters, Michelle Gray and Deborah Merritt; his grandchildren, Harlee Merritt, Haygan Merritt and Shiann Merritt; his nephews, Cody Merritt, Blake Stout, David Blystone and Justin Gray; his niece Summer Gray; his great-niece Kinsley Merritt; his brother-in-law Randy Gray; and his daughter-in-law Kelly Swords.
