In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Joseph leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Joseph may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Nathan Thornton and Pherlina Thornton; and his son Johnny Thornton. He is survived by: his children, Willie Sue Thornton of Tupelo, Stephanie Thornton of Plantersville, Randy Thornton of Pontotoc Co and Ricky Thornton (Parker) of Tupelo; and his brothers, Samuel Thornton and Mitchell Thornton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the New Lebanon MB Church (3 Coley Rd, Tupelo, MS 38801). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
