She was predeceased by: her father James Thomas; her father-in-law Wayne Short, Jr.; and her brother-in-law Steve Bryant. She is survived by: her mother Mary Evelyn Bedford Simmons; her husband Jeff Short; her daughter Emily Short Newell (Jered); her mother-in-law Joan Short; her sisters, Patricia Lynn Wilson (Robert), Barbara Ann Bryant and Martha Jane Dye (Wayne); and her granddaughter Laura Beth Newell.
