It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Virginia Houpt (Pontotoc, Mississippi), born in Falkner, Mississippi, who passed away on July 5, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Andrew "Jim" and Verlen Easley Ruth; her husband Alvis Wayne Houpt; and her siblings, Essie Poole, Agnes Gilispie, James Robert Ruth and A. W. Ruth.
She is survived by: her son Jim Houpt (Sue); her grandchildren, Andy Houpt (Lee Ann) and Ginger Towery (Randy); her great grandchildren, Averi, Ryleigh, Braiden Towery, Brodey and Collins Houpt; and her sister Charla Austin (Cha-Cha). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
