It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John L. McDavid (Ridgeland, Mississippi), who passed away on February 11, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Earl and Elizabeth Land McDavid; his wife Sylvia S. McDavid; his children, John Sanford McDavid (Mary Beth), Stephan Land McDavid (Rosie) and Elizabeth Holly Virden (James); his brother Robert S. "Sammy" McDavid (Frances); his niece Mary Beth McDavid; and his grandchildren, Patrick Sanford McDavid (Lauren), Jason Harkins McDavid (Dendy), Stephan Adams McDavid, Henry Land McDavid, Sara Hart Hersey (Kyle) and John Hunter Virden (Vanessa McDoughan). He was also cherished by seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Jackson.
