He is survived by: his wife Allene Cowan; his children, Charles Gallando Cowan (Jeannie) of Ripley, MS, Cedric Gerardo Cowan (Jennifer) of Ripley, MS, Antwan Carter and Michelle Carter of New Albany, MS; his siblings, Virginia Smith, Mary McBee of Milwaukee, WI, Thomas R. Cowan (Louise) of Potts Camp, MS, Ricky Cowan (Vanessa) of Ripley, MS and Clem Cowan (Michelle) of Hattiesburg, MS; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Sanders of Batesville, MS, Birdie Rutherford, Jewelene Garner of Hickory Flat, MS, Reola (Robert) of Grand Rapids, MI and James Howard Sanders of Grand Rapids, MI. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
