She was predeceased by: her parents, Orene E. Echols Story and W. C. Story. She is survived by: her husband James L. Rutherford; her children, Jamar R. Rutherford, Falanda Rutherford-Morrow (Louis), Kizzie Rutherford and James L. Rutherford Jr. (Angie); her siblings, Cassandra A. Johnson, Olivia L. and Ralph Pate (Latonya); and her siblings' children, Shirlyn Marshall (Lashun), Jacqueline Story, Earnest Pruitt, Tamela Harley, Antwon Curry and Ocquavion Agyekum. She is also survived by grandchildren, great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
