He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Tanner, Sr. and Mary Emma Tanner; his brother-in-law Paul Galle; his wife Charlene Santa Cruz Tanner; his sons, Scott Tanner (Wendie) and Ricky Tanner (Brittany); his grandchildren, Kyhli and Rylynd; his pet Dixie; and his siblings, Alva Tanner (Lynn), John Tanner (Mary), Judy Galle, Emily Wescovich (Mitchell) and Marilyn Seymour (Andrew).
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, Disabled Veterans or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
