He is survived by: his sons, Vation Sims III of Seminary and Paul Sims (Jennifer Sims) of Seminary; and his siblings, Lena Greer of Mt. Olive, Julie Bennett of Oak Grove, Liddie Corban of Seminary, George Sims of Ovett and Robbie Sims of Petal.
