He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Lamb and William Wightman Hughes, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Ginny Hughes Moser (Chad) of Clarksdale, MS and Nancy Hughes Arcemont (Cameron) of Madison, MS; and his grandchildren, Emily Moser, Will Moser, Hill Arcemont and Elizabeth Arcemont.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made St., Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38103.
