It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Juanita Henryse Carpenter (Starkville, Mississippi), who passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Henry Cox and Ressie; her daughter Kelly Louise Carpenter; her significant other Jamie Carpenter; and her son Jay Carpenter.
She is survived by: her sisters, Ellen Cox and Christine "Tenny" Cox; her daughter Chris Carpenter; her daughter-in-law Leigh Carpenter; her grandchildren, Melissa Yates (Donald), Ashley Cox (Dustin), Sumer Jones (Matt), Jamie Leigh Taccone (John), Katie Carpenter (Daniel), Daisy Harbin (Josh), Christopher Carpenter (Katie), Whitney Dillard (John), Bailey West and Mac MacFerrin; her great grandchildren, Gracie Croswell, Noah Gamble, Jamie Michelle Harbin, Anna Claire, Jenna Pritchard, River, Rileigh, Rowan Suns, Ellie, Annie, Henry Jones, Nolan Dillard, Everett, Evelynn West, Charlie Cox and Rosemary Carpenter; and her great great grandchildren, Raylynn Croswell and Canaan Churchhill.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (307 University Dr, Starkville, MS 39759). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mississippi University for Women, First Presbyterian Church of Starkville, or Palmer Home for Children, in honor of Ressie's life of faith, service and compassion.
