He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Nettles and Lizzie Young Nettles; his wife Ruby Nettles; and his brother Eugene Thomas Nettles. He is survived by: his children, Sherron Porter (James), William R. Nettles III (Suzanne) and Christopher Jerome Nettles (Patricia); his grandchildren, William R. Nettles IV (Dana), Brian Wills Nettles (Christy), Christopher Jerome Nettles Jr., Rebekah Crawford (Charles) and Rachel Daniel (Malcolm); and his great grandchildren, Fiona Crawford, James Crawford, Chandler Nettles, Natalie Nettles, Ryan Nettles, Noah Daniel of Evan Nettles, C. J and Gilley Ann Nettles.
