He was predeceased by : his wife Dorinda Avent Ellett; his parents, William R. "Bill" Ellett, Sr. and Colie Thompson Ellett; his daughter Bonnie Ellett; his siblings, Barbara Ann Johnson and John Lynn "Bo" Ellett; and his granddaughter Kayla Ballard.

He is survived by : his daughter Stephanie Melton (Billy) of Crowder, MS; his sisters, Shirley Burks of Bruce, MS and Virginia Blankenship of Monroe, LA; his grandchildren, William Nicholas "Scooter" Ellett, Will Melton, Luke Melton and Hailey Melton; and his great grandchildren, Garrett and Adelyn Ellett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Friendship Baptist Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or LeBonheur.
