He was predeceased by : his parents, Dr. Joseph H. Shoemaker and Ellen Gentry Shoemaker; his sister Verna Bowen; his brother-in-law Soren Bowie; his niece Elizabeth Dabbs; his nephew Will Reifers; and his parents-in-law, Herbert and Mildred Criddle.

He is survived by : his wife Sandy Criddle Shoemaker; his children, Adrian Shoemaker, Jr. and Lindsey Nicole Shoemaker of Van Vleet; his grandchildren, Nathan, Eli, Michael, Molly and Abel Shoemaker; his siblings, Garry Reifers (Jane) of Oxford, David Reifers (Sharon) of Columbus, Joe Shoemaker of Saltillo, Drew Shoemaker (Shelia) of Tupelo, Phillip Shoemaker of Saltillo, Alan Shoemaker of Van Vleet, Debbie Reifers Bowie of Batesville and Patricia Shoemaker Koch (Mark) of Dallas, TX; and his brother-in-law Jim Bowen of Tupelo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
