It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Eleanor Butler (Butte, Montana), who passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Wray Hanna and Eleanor Faddis. She is survived by : her brother Charles Wray Jr.; her former life partner Charles Thomas Padbury of Helena; her children, Craig Padbury (Julie), Burke Padbury and Laurel Mizell; her grandchildren, Kyla Padbury (Neph Smith), Tanner Padbury, Shannon Hansen (Jess) and Carson Padbury (Bayley); her former life partner's children, Bill, Don, Randy (Dan Butler) and Kathy Irving (Cindy Thomas); her sister Joyce Stoddard (Kent); and her sister-in-law Ardith Hanna.

After Don died in 1999, Karen retired and continued on with a busy life of voluntarism, at Butte Archives, RSVP and church, plus an active social life of exercise classes, Red Hat Society, golf, eating out and loving her little dog, Riley.

“I have known Karen since 1987 when I started working at Rocky Mountain Clinic. She was a wonderful manager, good friend and beautiful lady inside and out. We had such fun times at the clinic and her sense of humor was wonderful. We have kept in touch and she has remained as gracious and beautiful all these years. Karen loved her family so much and talked about all of you. My sincere condolences, her loss makes the world a little less bright.”
