She was predeceased by : her spouse Hoke Smith Bell; her siblings, Phyllis Chapman, Evelyn Grimes, Wenonah Wells and Blythe Thomas; and her granddaughter Margie Smith Norton.

She is survived by : her children, Julia Norton of Buchanan, GA and Russ Bell of Clancy, MT; her brother George Thomas of Powder Springs, GA; and her grandchildren, Melissa Sykes, Malinda Bennett, Derek Bell, Adrienne Heun and Shannon Bell. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
