He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Nelson and Gladys Nelson (Lockhart); his son Jeffery Scott; his wife Vera Mae; his brother Roy Nelson; his son Jeffery S. Nelson; his stepson Brian A. Preda; and his son-in-law Pat Crabtree.
He is survived by: his former wife Carol Hill; his children, Patti Reikowski (Paul) of Canton Ohio, Linda Crabtree of Lucasville Ohio, Ed Nelson (Beth) of Alliance Ohio and Don Nelson (Kelli) of Louisville, Ohio; and his stepdaughters, Sondra Burnett (Scott) of Langley, British Columbia and Beth Clark (David) of Great Falls, Montana. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Stockett Community Bible church and the Great Falls Rescue Mission.
