He was predeceased by: his stepfather G. J. Salinas; his parents, Merle and Helen; and his son Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Trudy L. Carter; his children, Merle, John, James, Carter, Teresa, Monica, Maria and Elizabeth; and his sister Sonja Jensen. He is also survived by his 47 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
