He was predeceased by: his parents, Herb Compton and Helen Compton; his son Gary Compton; and his brothers, Ross, John and Kay Compton.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo; his son Gene (Cindy); his grandchildren, Zeb (Marissa), Leah (Ryan), Elise (Zach), Peta, Milla Compton and Roxy Lewis; his uncle Glenn; his aunt Betty Jo; and his sister Colleen.
