He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Lee Shields and Rosaline Jones Shields; his aunt Eunice Jerry Alfery; his siblings, Debra Clark, Leola Lambert, Odessa Fourstar, Gloria Diserly, Roy Allen Jones (Soggy), Edward Lee Shields Jr. (STuta) and Shep Ferguson; his cousin Diane Chase; his siblings' children, Midas "Beanie" Lambert, Pat Ambrose Burshia and Anotinette "Liz" Fourstar; and also Jerry Alfery.
He is survived by: his significant other Bernadine; his close friend Hunter Shields; his children, Debra Hapa (Arlin), Antoinette Shields (Adam Giesick), Jennifer Montclair and Karl Hougan; his siblings, Linda "Shaggy" Shields-Littlehead and Mervyn "Kirby" Shields; his daughter Cyndi Shields; his grandchildren, David Hapa, Mervin, Debra, Arlie, Best, Lonnie Headdress, Greg Gourneau and Furry; his child Flex; and also Mervyn. He is also survived by Numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
