He was predeceased by : his parents, Eulis Jackson Evans and Thyra Ellen Preston Evans; and his siblings, Timmy, Ricky, Sheryl and Judy.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara Sue Troutt Evans; his daughters, Cheryl Evans of King and Terri Nichols (Johnny) of Pinnacle; his grandchildren, Jacob Nichols of Pinnacle, Emily Nichols of Pinnacle, Ashley Brown (Ben) of Mocksville, Kristin Campbell of Mocksville and Landon Evans of King; his great grandchildren, Isabella Brown of Mocksville, Madilyn Brown of Mocksville and Kylie Campbell of Mocksville; and his siblings, Darlene Vanhoy (Johnnie) of Mocksville, Patty Kilby of Yadkinville and Roger Owens (Glenda) of Lewisville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
