She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Spivey Brett and John Hayes Brett; and her brother John Montgomery Brett. She is survived by: her husband Tommy Mitchell; her children, Noel Mitchell of Aulander and April Mitchell of Ahoskie; her nephew Ian Brett (Amanda); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Liam, London and Whitley of Kernersville, NC.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Ahoskie Chapel (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service Ahoskie (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
