She was predeceased by: her parents, Karl Ludwig and Helen Weiss Balzersen; her husband Geral James Shook; and her grandson Timothy James Worrell. She is survived by: her daughters, Christine S. Kirk of Ahoskie, NC, Dawn S. Taylor of Ahoskie, NC and Donna S. Mooring of Pendleton, NC; her grandchildren, James F. X. Graham, IV of Gates, NC, Lindsey S. Prevette (Robbie) of Murfreesboro, NC and Alyssa D. Smith of Jackson, NC.; her great grandchildren, Eric James Worrell of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Waylon Prevette of Murfreesboro, NC, Madalynn Graham of Franklin, VA and Izzabelle D. Taylor of Jackson, NC; and her sister Gladys Denninger.
