It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Penelope Jernigan Wicker (Ahoskie, North Carolina), who passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson Jernigan and Yvonne Jernigan. She is survived by: her son Paul Jordan of Ahoskie; her granddaughter Brook Riddick (Chase) of Ahoskie; her granddaughter-in-law Brianna Brown (Dalton) of Raleigh; her great grandchild Walker Riddick; her brothers, Perry Jernigan (Carol) of Elkin, NC and Scott Jernigan (Kim) of Windsor; and her nieces and nephews, George Perry Jernigan III (Christy) of Brevard, NC, Carson Jernigan of Bermuda Run, NC, Julie Galloway (Lee) of Keswick, VA and Josh Holliday of Jamesville, NC. She is also survived by numerous special friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Edgewood Cemetery.
