It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Saunders Oakley of Ahoskie, North Carolina, who passed away on June 27, 2020, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Maynard and Elsie Ayers Oakley; and his siblings, Walter Benjamin Oakley, Joseph Keith Oakley, Edith Rae James and Jenny Lou Oakley.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Turner Oakley; his daughter Jennifer Oakley Williams (Walter Melvin) of Tarboro, NC; his grandsons, Jordan Lawrence Oakley and Wyatt Matthew Williams; and his siblings, Barbara Bullock of Bear Grass, NC, Alice Faye Russell (Don) of Grifton, NC, Becky Sue Griffin (Rodney) of Robersonville, NC, Judy Elaine Oakley of Williamston, NC and Michael Lee Oakley of Williamston, NC.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to the circumstances with COVID-19 restrictions, family and friends may pay their respects and sign the register book on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie, NC.
