It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Silas William McKeel Jr. (Ahoskie, North Carolina), born in Hertford, North Carolina, who passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Mallard McKeel and Silas William McKeel, Sr.; his wife Marjorie Pierce McKeel; and his sister Linda McKeel. He is survived by: his stepchildren, John Isaac Futrell (Debra) of Murfreesboro, Judy Godwin (Richard) of Raleigh and Robert "Robbie" Futrell (Melody) of Powellsville; his grandchildren, Jonathan Futrell (Debbie), Brent Futrell, Heather Haste, Justin Futrell (Kristin) and Ashley Davis (Matt); his great grandchildren, Dustin (Lauren), Katie, Jessica, Reid, Eva Rose, Jackson and Ada Mae; and also Vicky Piland.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie Chapel (205 NC-42, Ahoskie, NC 27910).
