He is survived by: his wife Anna Jane Jordan Thompson; his children, Jesica Tess Thompson (Jill) of Newbury and Anthony Grant Thompson (Leigh Ann) of Wendell, NC; his sister Brenda Ritchie of Albemarle; his stepmother Jean Thompson of Albemarle; and his stepsiblings, Claudia Hill Lang (Bill) of Tampa, FL and Paul Hill (Ann) of Washington, NC..
