He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmie Dunn and Mamie Dunn; his wife Betty Turner Dunn; and his siblings, Carolyn Dunn, Lois Goodwin, Joe Dunn and Bud Bailey.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Dunn of Kannapolis and Carl Lee Dunn, Jr. of Thickety Creek; his grandchildren, Bradley Lee Dunn, Clark Lee Dunn and MacKenzie LeeAnn Dunn; and his half-sister Betty Thomas of Rockingham.
