She was predeceased by: her parents, Janice Tyson Davis and Donald Sawyer. She is survived by: her children, Damoris P. Tyson (Tammy), Sadaria A. Tyson of Albemarle, NC and Ebonee S. Tyson of Albemarle, NC; her grandchildren, Quentaria L. Tyson, Damarion P. Tyson of Albemarle, NC, Kemorie J. Tyson of Albemarle, NC and Jihad Q. Hooker of Albemarle, NC; her sisters, Donna M. Wall and Devona L. Craig (Robert) of Albemarle, NC; her uncle Michael A. Lilly (Jackie); her aunts, Barbara Tyson and Sheila K. Davis; and her close friends, Sheila Harris, Niecy Miller (Herman), Phyllis Robinson (Larry), Shyesia Jordan, Betty Rivers and James Cagle. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
