He is survived by: his sons, David "Wade" (Donna) of Albemarle and Mark Lee (Jim Polturanus) of Michigan; his sisters, Julia Frances Jones of Albemarle and Arwilla Cook of Colorado Springs; his grandsons, John Ellison (Laura) of Badin and Sam Jones of Kentucky; his great grandchild Freya; his adoptive daughter Deborah Whitley of Concord; his children, Brittany Hatley and Garrett Hatley; his grandchildren, Noah, Adisyn and Brailyn of Albemarle; and his wife Margie.
