She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Burris and Lottie Almond Burris; her husband James Jarvis Harris; and her son David Vernon Harris. She is survived by: her children, Charles Melvin Harris (Linda) of Norwood, James Ricky Harris (Sharon) of Surfside Beach, SC, Ronnie Lee Harris (Joyce) of Locust and Carol Harris Dennis (Tim) of Albemarle; and her sister Hazel McLean of Gastonia. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
