She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Walter C. Thorpe and Aikman of Norwood; her husband Daniel "Dan" Wayman Newton; her children, Steve Newton (Jeanne) of Rockingham, Larry Newton of Albemarle and Wendy Bell (Jim) of Albemarle; her brother Robert Thorpe (Polly) of Norwood; and her daughter Lisa Annette Newton. She was also cherished by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
