It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Whitley Burleson of Albemarle, North Carolina, who passed away on August 6, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Whitley and Lizzie Hathcock Whitley; and her husband Bennie Joel Burleson. She is survived by: her children, Randy Joel Burleson (Peggy) of Albemarle, NC, Steven Todd Burleson of Albemarle, NC, Kathy Connell (Eddie) of Albemarle, NC and Kimberly Pope of Charlotte, NC; and her brother-in-law Giles Almond (Anita) of Union County. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
