He was predeceased by: his parents, James Croson Furr and Emily Almond Furr; and his brother-in-law Steve Hyatt. He is survived by: his wife Diane Furr of Albemarle; his stepdaughter Jerri "Missy" Morgan of Stanfield; his grandson Christopher Morgan of Stanfield; his great grandchildren, Korbin and Grayson Rushing of Monroe; his sister Melody Furr Hyatt of Peachland; and his nephews, Ryan Hyatt of Waxhaw and Luke Hyatt of Peachland. He is also survived by six great-nephews.
