She is survived by: her husband Melvin Alexander Hughes; her brother Carl Thompson; her children, Rodney Alexander Hughes and Kathy Amecia Hughes; and her brothers, Walter T. Thompson and Ralph Thompson (Gaynell). She is also survived by one granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; two step-grandchildren.
