It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lawrence Smith of Albemarle, North Carolina, who passed away on January 25, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Lawrence and Cornelia Ellen Carpenter Smith; his wife Sue Taylor Smith; his granddaughter Stephanie Efird; and his siblings, Mary Kate Bowers, Ann Luther, Lennox Smith, Robert Smith and Spencer Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Marisa Smith Efird (Jeff) of Albemarle, Jeff Page (Seandee) of Weaverville and Barry Page (Joy) of Norwood; his brother Melville Smith (Marge) of Norwood; and his grandchildren, Bobbie Efird, Landon Efird (Alli), Kara Efird, Brian Page, Jeffrey Page, Katie Page, Mika Parrish (Jon) and Morgan Page. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
