He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy P. Simons Sr. and Frances Bennett; and his siblings, Garland Sylvester Simons, Mary Elizabeth Vaughn, Daisy Ruth Badger and Laura Annette Simons.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley C. Simmons; his children, Tamala Meshell Simons and Leroy P. Simons III; his sister Nancy Lee Simons; his sister-in-law Martha Howard; his cousin Bobby Simon (Peggy); and also LeVander Edwards. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
