She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Howard and Blanche Laughlin Howard; her husband William Frank Gardner; and her daughter Wynnell Harkey. She is survived by: her daughter Debbie Frick of Albemarle; her grandchildren, Kristy Frick Abernethy (Jason) of Mooresville and Steven Harkey (Michelle) of Jamestown, NC; and her great grandchildren, Brynn and Brooks.
