She was predeceased by: her parents, John Grover Swaringen and Clarice Ruth McIntyre Swaringen; her husband Roy Lee Kimrey, Sr.; and her siblings, Lee Swaringen, Lane Swaringen and Irene Mabry.
She is survived by: her children, Roy Kimrey, Jr. (Cathy) of Monroe, NC and Sylvia Lawrence (Mickey) of New London, NC; her brothers, J. T. Swaringen (Judy) of New London, NC, Henry Swaringen (Sue) of Albemarle, NC, Conrad Swaringen (Helen) of Norwood, NC and Gerald Swaringen (Janet) of Albemarle, NC; and her grandchildren, Carmen Thomas (Matt) of Matthews, NC, Emily Holleman (Adam) of Weddington, NC, Michelle Osborne (Bryson) of Greensboro, NC and Meagan Baugh (David) of Valle Crucis, NC. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
