She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Romulus and Alberta Talbert Smith; her husband Murphy Garfield Ragsdale, Sr.; her children, Ramonda Tucker of Albemarle and Murphy Garfield Ragsdale, Jr. (Kathy) of Southern Pines; her grandchildren, Christie Biles, Shellie Clemmons, Timothy Bachner, Scott Tucker, Mitchell Lee Ragsdale and Matthew Wayne Ragsdale; and her grandmother Boddie. She was also cherished by several great-grandchildren.
