He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Layton and Jennie Smith Layton; and his brothers, J. R. Laton and Don Layton. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Layton; his daughters, Jennifer Layton (Kirt Brace) and Amanda Hardy (Matt); and his grandsons, Rhys Brace, Tilden and Asa Hardy.
