He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace A. Aldridge and Bronnie S. Aldridge; and his siblings, William Filmore Aldridge, Horace Max Aldridge and Alma Louise Burris.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Aldridge of Albemarle, NC; his children, William "Bill" Sherrill Aldridge (Martha), Cheryl Ellen Aldridge and Amy Aldridge Wright; his grandchildren, David Burleson, Cameron Wright, Connor Wright, Sara Burleson and Caroline Wright; and his great grandchildren, Elli, Karter-Shea and Skylar.
