She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Irvin Jackson and Ida Marie Jackson; her husband J. R. Smith; her brothers, Albert Byroad and Harold Max Byroad; and her grandson Dakota Snavely.
She is survived by: her children, Norita Fields (Terry) of Albemarle, Melanie Little (David) of Albemarle, Jimmy Snavely (Elizabeth) of Albemarle and Darla Snavely (Daniel Fish) of Norwood; her grandchildren, Kim Jay Sites (Victoria), Megan Little, Caroline Dulin, Christopher Dulin, Chance Fish and Ian Fish; and her great grandchildren, Jamie Sites (Megan), Kristine Sites and Brandon Sites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local VFW.
