She was predeceased by: her granddaughter Katie Beasley. She is survived by: her husband Ruben Earl Matthews; her children, Lisa M. Lee and Rhonda M. Beasley; and her brothers, Roy Johnson of Coats and Ronnie B. Johnson of Garner. She is also survived by four grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
