He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry V. McLendon, Sr. and Mary Kirk McLendon; his wife Mary Ida McLendon; and his siblings, Barbara Tanner, Molly Daneron and Joseph McLendon.

He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Wells (David), Henry McLendon, III (Maria), Tim McLendon (Sue), Bob McLendon (Debbie) and Kirk McLendon (Jen); and his sister Mary Tanfield (Bob). He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
