She was predeceased by : her parents, Weaver Alexander Barbee and Elsie Whitley Barbee; and her husband Fred "Buck" Carpenter, Sr.. She is survived by : her son Rev. Fred Carpenter Jr. (Reneé) of Albemarle; her grandchildren, Matthew Carpenter (Katie) of Ansonville, Kelly Sheppard (Trent) of Peachland, Carrie Gillespie (Ben) of Seoul, Korea, Scott, Hannah, Jack (Buck), Aiden, Austin and Barrett (Bear); and her sister Betty Beachum (George) of Ansonville.
