With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shireen Akram Fazal of Apex, North Carolina, who passed away on November 9, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Shireen leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Shireen may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Akram Fazal and Margaret James. She is survived by: her husband Jon Rygelski; her daughter Nousheen Duckworth (John Duckworth); her siblings, Gulnaz Abbassi (Afzal Abbassi), Rubina Mahmood, Samina Fazal (Giuseppe Maniscalco) and Noor Jamal; and her niece Aiza Fazal.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Apex Funeral Home (550 W Williams St, Apex, NC 27502). A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
