She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Parks and Nina Aiken Parks; her husband Ronald R. "Ron" Carter; and her brothers, Junior Parks and Gary Parks.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Anderson (Rich), Kristi Whittington (Scott), Shawn Carter, Rene Carter Whitesell (Ronni), Frank Carter and Cinda Carter; her siblings, Joan Smith, Teresa McConnell (Danny), Carol Kestner (Les) and Sammy Parks (Lisa); her grandchildren, Ashley Gearles (Jesse), Matthew Marsh, Samantha Whittington, Connor Whittington, Jenna Roth (Josh) and Austin Whitesell; and her great grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Ethan, Jessie Ray, Paul, Lucas, Dean and Farrah.
