In the vast expanse of eternity, Barbara shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Barbara farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Melton and Vienna Bradley Melton; her husband Milburn Lee Brooks; her son Gary Lee Brooks; and her siblings, Viann Brown, Martin, Kenneth and Carl Melton.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Parker; her grandson Dustin Orr (Traci); and her sister-in-law Maxine Melton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church (9 Chapel Hill Church Rd, Asheville, NC 28803). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
