It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Mae Widner Ward (Asheville, North Carolina), who passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Monroe Campbell Widner and Roxie Thomas Widner; her husband Henry Jackson Ward; her grandson Terry Evans; and her siblings, Mabel, Mildred, Louise, Paul, Jack, Joe and Earl.
She is survived by: her children, Henry Cambell Ward, Tammy Marie Ledford and Lisa Kaye Hicks; her grandchildren, Alicia Jean Owenby, John Charles Hicks, Michael Allen Hicks, Kevin Lance Hicks and Karl Frederick Hicks; her sisters, Ruby Fields and Shirley Widner; and her stepsiblings, Faye Widner Hoback, Maye Widner DeBoard and Allen Widner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
